"Life doesn't come with a manual"
Most of us learned maths, science, and history at school,
but nobody really taught us how to handle disappointment, navigate difficult conversations, manage stress,
set healthy boundaries, make confident decisions, or cope when life doesn't go according to plan.
Yet these are the skills we use every single day.
HUMAN SKILLS is a collection of practical tools, insights, and strategies designed to help you navigate the
realities of everyday life. Not perfectly. Just a little more confidently, calmly, and intentionally.
Whether you're facing a life transition, feeling overwhelmed, struggling with self-doubt, managing relationships, or simply trying to make sense of life's challenges, these skills can help you build resilience
and create more ease in your day-to-day experience.
At Human and Trying, we believe that growth isn't about becoming a different person.
It's about learning the skills that help you navigate life as the person you already are.
Because being human can be messy, complicated, and sometimes exhausting.
And we're all trying. One conversation. One skill. One small step at a time.
We often assume that confidence, resilience, emotional strength, communication, and self-belief are qualities that people either have or they don't.
But that's rarely true.
Most of the skills that help us navigate life are learned, developed, strengthened, and refined over time through experience, reflection, and practice.
Just as we wouldn't expect to walk into a gym and lift the heaviest weight on day one, we shouldn't expect ourselves to automatically know how to manage setbacks, handle difficult conversations, cope with uncertainty, or bounce back from disappointment.
Resilience is much like a muscle. It grows through use. It develops when we face challenges, adapt, learn, recover, and try again.
Not because we enjoy hardship, but because each experience teaches us something about our own capacity to cope.
The same is true for confidence. Confidence isn't usually something that appears before action.
More often, it develops because of action.
We take a step, learn something, survive the discomfort, and gradually build trust in ourselves. Being human is not about getting everything right.
It's about learning, adjusting, making mistakes, repairing, growing, and continuing forward despite uncertainty.
It means recognising that some days we will cope well and other days we won't. Both are part of the process.
The goal isn't perfection.
The goal is to become a little more capable, a little more self-aware, and a little more resilient each time life asks something of us.
That's why Human and Trying exists.
To help people build the practical and emotional skills that support everyday life. Because being human isn't something we master. It's something we practise.
